Any force that doesn't have protection against teleportation technology would find themselves overwhelmed by fanatical Jem'hadar appearing out of thin air. The Dominion, by contrast, can teleport ground troops from an orbiting starship to a planet's surface in a matter of seconds. Drop ships can get shot down, and they take time to fly from orbit to a planet's surface. In a situation where the Covenant have to invade a planet, they would begin by sending in drop ships. The Covenant have energy weapons that overheat after a few seconds of continuous fire. The Dominion have weapons as (or more) powerful and versatile as phasers. The closest thing the Covenant have are giant teleportation platforms that take time to set up. I think the Dominion would crush the Covenant in all 3 rounds due to two key advantages:
